During your stay, you will visit Alta Museum, home to Northern Europe’s largest collection of prehistoric rock carvings and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. With a guided tour, you’ll gain fascinating insight into human life in the Arctic thousands of years ago, walking among ancient carvings that still speak across time.

You will also experience Peskatun, where Alta’s world-renowned slate takes center stage. Through a hands-on activity, you’ll learn traditional techniques and craft your own unique slate souvenir connecting directly with a craft that has shaped the region for generations.

Another highlight is a visit to the Tirpitz Museum, a privately established museum built on passion and dedication. Here, a remarkable collection of artifacts tells the story of the German battleship Tirpitz and its connection to the region during World War II, offering a rare and personal perspective on this chapter of history.
