Join a peaceful hike “Waffles by the Fire” through the forest around ONGA Boutique Lodge. Follow your guide to a traditional Norwegian gapahuk, where you’ll enjoy hot drinks and waffles made over the fire, served with jam and brown cheese.
Step into the quiet beauty of the Arctic on a guided hike through the pristine forest surrounding ONGA Boutique Lodge. This easy and immersive experience offers a peaceful escape into the heart of nature.
As you wander through the peaceful landscape, you’ll make your way to a traditional gapahuk — a simple Norwegian wooden shelter with a roof tucked away in the woods. Here, we gather around a crackling bonfire to enjoy hot drinks and classic Norwegian waffles, prepared over the open fire and served the traditional way with jam and brown cheese. As you warm yourself by the flames, your guide shares stories from the Arctic — of nature, wildlife, and culture — adding meaning to the silence that surrounds you.
We return to ONGA restored by the stillness of the forest, the warmth of the fire, and the taste of the waffles.
During the snowy season the walk will be with snowshoes.

- Season: All year round (except May and June when ONGA is closed)
- Included: waffles and hot drinks (snowshoes and poles during winter. Overalls are available upon request)
